How to Make a French-style fabric memo board for photos and letters

This crafty project is inexpensive, it's easy to do and it's really handy for attaching things like letters, photos and to-do lists. Materials:

*16-by-20-inch stretched canvas on stretcher bars

*Piece of quilt batting, about 20-by-24-inches

*Cotton fabric, about 24-by-28-inches

*6 yards of 1/2 inch ribbon or jumbo rick rack

*12 buttons, any size, optional

*Sewing needle and thread that matches the ribbon

*Scissors

*Staple gun and staples

*Picture hanging hardware to hang the board when finished
